The findings of the Supporting All to Thrive project were presented on 10th September, 2025, at SSAFA headquarters in London. Attendees included the Armed Forces, the Ministry of Defence, the Department for Education, charities, researchers and parents. Parents’ powerful artwork from Strand 3 of the project was exhibited alongside quotations from the art workshop discussions and survey responses.
Following the presentation of the findings from all three strands of the project, delegates discussed concrete actions on two themes:
- How do we better enable continuity of support for Service children with additional needs?
- What can we do to relieve some of the burdens on Service families with additional needs?
Professor Nicola Fear, CBE opened and closed the event and thanked the research team for their impressive research. She highlighted the novel use of multiple methods to examine the issues and bring them to life. Other delegates described the research findings as “invaluable” and “just what we’ve been waiting for”.
