Who is responsible for the Supporting All to Thrive website and what data is collected from visitors to the website?

The Supporting All to Thrive website was developed by the project’s team of researchers at Oxford Brookes University. The researchers and the University will not collect any data whatsoever from visitors to the website.

However, the Supporting All to Thrive website is hosted on WordPress. WordPress may collect technical data from visitors’ computers, such as your IP address, browser type, unique device identifiers, language preference, referring site, the date and time of access, operating system, and mobile network information.

WordPress may also determine the approximate location of a visitor’s device from the IP address. However, the Supporting All to Thrive team will not attempt to access, collect or share any of that data.

You should also know that WordPress.com servers store personal data on servers located both in the US and in the EU. WordPress.com respects EU law related to the proper handling of data being transferred elsewhere. WordPress is part of Automattic.com. See Automattic’s privacy notice.

What if I get in touch with the Supporting All to Thrive research team?

Should you phone or email us with enquiries about the Supporting All to Thrive project, we will only retain your telephone number or email address and any information you send us as long as we need to deal with your enquiry.

We use Oxford Brookes University’s approved versions of Google Workspace for email and Zoom for telephone calls. Google and Zoom both store information outside the UK.

While it is not possible to fully guarantee the security of data in an online environment, Oxford Brookes University is satisfied that Google and Zoom provide adequate safeguards for the data they collect:

If you contact us about taking part in our research, we will first send you a participant information sheet. This tells you about the research and what you would be asked to do if you did decide to take part. It also includes a formal GDPR privacy notice that explains how we will handle your data and what your rights are.

You will be offered the chance to ask questions and you will have to give your consent before you take part in any part of the research.

If you follow the link to our survey from the website, you will also be taken to the participant information, privacy and consent form before you start the survey.
